After reunion with the Orthodox Church (1839), Minsk icon of the Mother of God was returned to the cathedral.
In 1835 there was a fire, after which the church was rebuilt significantly. Secondary reconstruction of the church occurred in 1893.
In 1930 the cathedral was closed and was handed over to the organization for the collection of grain. In the same year the bells in the city were banned. In 1936 the church was blown up. Menagerie was organized in place of the church
In 2009 reconstruction of the church building began, designed by architect Baglasov S.G. Reconstruction was completed in autumn 2011. At present, there is a Philharmonic for Children. To have a look on old foundations of the church you will need to go down to the basement of the building.
