“Minsk-Arena” was created by published in late 2005 decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus to build a multi-purpose sports complex, the works began in the spring of 2006. On December 30, 2008, the Velodrome was firat commissioned in. On December 2, 2009 the first training session was held on the ice skating stadium.
Inauguration of the “Minsk-Arena” was held January 30, 2010 in the Star Match of the Continental Hockey League.
“Minsk-Arena” is the home venue for the hockey club “Dynamo” (Minsk), acting in the Continental Hockey League. At the time of discovery it was the biggest arena of all NHL teams and the fourth the capacity of hockey arenas in Europe.
Since 2009, within the complex were carried out following sports competitions of international level: European Championships in track cycling at the 2009 European Championships in Rhythmic Gymnastics, 2011 FIFA World Figure Skating Championships 2012.
In 2014 “Minsk-Arena” is planning to hold the world championship tournament in ice hockey.
