The play "Karenina"

Love and betrayal, birth and death, the eternal search for the meaning of life — made Tolstoy's novel truly iconic.

When the great American writer William Faulkner was asked to name the three best novels in world literature, he answered without hesitation: "Anna Karenina", "Anna Karenina" and once again "Anna Karenina". And another great writer, Vladimir Nabokov, when asked which Russian novel he considered the best, also without hesitation, said: "Anna Karenina." But he added: "However, why only Russian? And the global one, too."

Anna's story is a path to herself through a desperate desire for genuine feelings. Next to Karenin, she lost her youth too quickly, without having had time to feel anything and live nothing. The youthful spark went out, never ignited. And the only thing she wants is to catch up, to regain her stolen youth.
