Belarusian State Philharmonic Society

The Belgorod Philharmonic started its activity in 1937. However, at that time she had no permanent premises, performances took place in different halls, often with poor acoustics. The building on Yakub Kolas Square appeared in 1963, the hall in it was designed for 930 seats.
In the early 2000s, a large-scale reconstruction of the Philharmonic hall took place. All modern standards and technologies have been taken into account in its interiors. To improve the sound quality, the large hall was reduced to 690 seats, but a Small Hall appeared, which was named after the composer Grigory Schirma.
The Vladimir Mulyavin Museum has also been opened on the basis of the Philharmonic Society, since it was here that the Belarusian singer began his work. The exhibition features authentic furniture, the musician's piano, and many other items that belonged to him. Fragments of concerts and TV recordings featuring the performer are constantly shown here.
Today, the Belarusian State Philharmonic is the main center of the country's musical culture. Concerts of academic, organ, folk and pop music are held here.
