Not far from the lively Independence Avenue, behind the monumental building of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, in a quiet courtyard where the pines, which have seen a lot in their time, rustle with the sky, stands a cozy house. In the last years of his life, Yakub Kolas, a famous master of artistic expression, public figure, and scientist, lived and worked here. Since 1959, the Kolas House has been a literary memorial museum, where the poet's study, bedroom, living room, dining room, personal belongings, and library are carefully preserved.
A visit to the Yakub Kolas Museum will contribute not only to a closer acquaintance with the comprehensive activities of the national poet, Belarusian literature and art, but also to the spiritual uplift of those who enter this hospitable house.
