Yanka Kupala State Literary Museum

The Yanka Kupala Literary Museum was opened in 1945. Preparatory work on the organization of the museum was started back in Moscow in 1942. They were headed by the widow of the poet Vladislav Frantsevna Lutsevich. She also became the first director of the museum. The building was built on the site of a house burned down in the early days of the war, in which the poet lived from 1927 to 1941. His collections contain more than 51,000 exhibits: classic manuscripts, lifetime editions, personal belongings, photographs and memorabilia telling about the life and work of the national poet.
